The State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) empowers small businesses by unlocking the financing they need to grow and thrive. By fueling economic development and creating jobs, SSBCI supports businesses in building stronger communities and driving long-term success.

Eligibility Requirements

The program supports a wide range of Choctaw-owned businesses and enterprises. Eligible borrowers include:

  • Choctaw tribal members located within the Choctaw Reservation.
  • Businesses with fewer than 750 employees.
  • Approved uses of funds include working capital, construction, equipment, inventory, and real estate.

How It Works

We integrate seamlessly into your existing lending process, providing the support you need to say "yes" more confidently:

  1. Lenders conduct their standard loan qualification process and submit qualified deals to the program.
  2. Our team assesses proposals against program criteria to confirm eligibility.
  3. Once approved, you close and service the loans as usual, with program support to mitigate your risk.

    • CRA Credit Opportunities: Loans made through this program may qualify for Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) credit.

Key Features & Terms

  • Shared Risk: The program assumes primary risk by purchasing loan participations.
  • Flexible Support: We cover up to 50% of the total loan project cost.
  • Size & Scope: Targeting projects of $5 million or less, with the ability to support projects as large as $20 million.
  • Extended Terms: Participations available for terms of up to 10 years.
  • Borrower-Friendly Fees: Fees are 1% or less for participations and 2% for collateral support and can be included in the loan financing.
