Logistics & Distribution All Industry Sectors
Transportation infrastructure such as highway 69/75, the Port of Keota and Port of Carl Albert (access to MKARNS), and a mixture of Class I railroads and short-lines are strong distribution and logistical assets for the Choctaw Nation territory. These key assets create strategic connections to larger markets located outside the territory in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. The ability to move goods allows a variety of transportation-dependent industries to flourish in the region. Big Lots Distribution Center and Indian Nation Wholesale Company are major employers in this sector, but the transportation backbone also benefits other industries such as food distribution and those that transport natural resources (timber, coal, stone, etc.).
